What is AEFE?
What is AEFE?
The Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), under the supervision of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairscoordinates a school network unique to the world. It comprises more than 530 institutions in 139 countries and embodies the quality and excellence of French international education. This scheme makes France the only country with such an educational network.
The AEFE evaluates teachers, accompanies their in-service training and ensures compliance with official programmes while promoting openness to local cultures. It provides a public education service for French children living abroad and also contributes to the attractiveness of higher education in France through scholarships of excellence for foreign students.
Registered institutions benefit from the educational and cultural richness of this global networkl. They participate in innovative and unifying devices such as ADN-AEFE, ADN Tomorrow Durable, the Week of the Lycée Français of the World, the May of Languages, the International Youth Games or the Games of the Central Africa Zone. These initiatives develop cooperation, solidarity and openness to the world.
The AEFE embodies a modern vision of French education: demanding, inclusive and forward-looking. It allows students to gain a solid academic background while developing in an international context that values cultural diversity and prepares for global challenges.
